Welcome
Christopher Rawlins Primary School is a Church of England (Aided) School, founded in 1589 by the will of Canon Christopher Rawlins, Vicar of the Parish of Adderbury.

Originally sited on the village green, the school now occupies a modern, purpose-built building within the heart of its community, on the Aynho Road.

July 2007 saw the completion of a major programme of refurbishment and redevelopment within the school, giving us separate, spacious classrooms for each year group, a new Activity Area for art and design technology projects and a dedicated ICT suite with 30 networked workstations for pupils' use.

These facilities, together with our large playing field and spacious grounds, provide an enviable environment for pupils and staff.

From September 2007, we welcome 3 and 4 year-olds to our school, in our newly extended Foundation Stage class. This exciting initiative means that we now offer seamless, high-quality education from ages 3 to 11, across the three key stages of primary education (Foundation, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two)

Adderbury is proud of its long educational heritage and the School continues to have close links with the St Mary's Parish Church and the community as a whole. Parents are always welcome to come and look around the school and spend time with the Headteacher who will be able to answer any queries you may have. Appointments may be made at a mutually convenient time by telephoning the school office.

Summaries of our recent school inspections:
From the Ofsted Report-
"This is a good, improving school. A purposeful working atmosphere is created in which pupils are challenged to work hard. The new FS unit is highly regarded by many parents, who are 'extremely impressed with the new Foundation Stage'.
Children have a good sense of right and wrong and are polite and considerate towards each other. The quality of teaching and learning is consistently good and often better, and the curriculum enhanced by a good range of enrichment activities.
Ambitious and challenging targets have been set to improve standards in English and mathematics. The great majority of parents see this as an effective school and a focal part of the Community".

From the SIAS report
"
The distinctiveness and effectiveness of Christopher Rawlins as a Church of England school are good.
Christopher Rawlins is a good school with some outstanding features. The committed head, staff and governing body work together to ensure there is continuous evaluation and development. This gives pupils an excellent primary education underpinned by secure Christian principles."
