You are required to write a detailed request and complete a form at least fourteen days before the absence. Every case will be considered on individual merits and your child’s previous attendance record will be taken into consideration. A pupil’s absence during term time can seriously disrupt their continuity of learning. Not only do they miss teaching provided in the days they are away, they are also less prepared for the lessons building on that after their return. Staff are not required to provide work for pupils taking holidays in term time. When making a request you need to consider the impact this absence may have on your child’s achievements because of work missed. Please note no leave of absence will be granted during the Key Stage 1 & 2 SAT’s period. Medical CareThe school has qualified ’Appointed Persons’ and a ‘First Aider’ to deal with minor ailments, cuts and bruises. For more serious injuries/illnesses we will always contact parents to collect their children. It is school policy not to administer medicines to children. Illness If your child has a medical or dental appointment during school time please inform school in writing stating details of dates, time and who will be collecting your child from school if necessary. |
